Telecom Relocation

Anyone who has
experienced a corporate relocation,
opening up new branches or temporary
sites understands the hours and effort
involved and the coordination of telecom
services. Company staff dedicated to
supporting the move is often taxed with
a plethora of tasks that must be
completed both on time and on budget.
Then once the move is complete, many
existing services such as phone lines,
data and high-speed lines need to be
cancelled and disconnected at the old
location.
Making it even more
challenging, is having to follow-up with
your local, long distance and data
providers to ensure your request was
processed.
And for some, changing or
disconnecting the main number has
prohibited some businesses from moving
very far from their current location.
Not anymore! You can retain the main
phone number without incurring
additional costs!
The Morrison Group has
coordinated well over 400 company
relocations, branch office expansions
and temporary office phone services
since 1990. We specialize in managing
and providing turn key solutions for the
telecom portion of your company's
corporate relocation, freeing key
personnel tackle issues they are unable
to outsource.

relocating their corporate headquarters,
opening a new office, or closing or
moving an existing location, The

Creation of the Master
List of all Voice and Data
Lines/Circuits
This is by far one of the
most important documents your company
should have whether you’re a small
office or a large multi-location
enterprise company! This easy to read
spreadsheet (and HIPAA compliant)
document has been referred to by top
employees of the FCC and PUC as “a must
for every company.” At your fingertips
you’ll know what each voice and data
line is and what it’s used for. You’ll
know the hunting sequence and the off
group lines. We’ll identify all telecom
services you are paying for. In
addition, we have a proven method of
disconnecting the unused lines and
circuits.
The Morrison Group will
also provide you with all circuit ID’s
from the LEC for Hi-Cap T-1’s, Frame
Relay and VPN’s. The Morrison Group
will also list the signaling, framing,
line coding and DNIS digits. By having
this information at your fingertips,
you’ll save valuable time when reporting
or opening trouble tickets with the
prospective carrier or LEC. You’d be
AMAZED that most businesses do not have
this information at their disposal.
This list will give
management the edge over service issues
as well as providing a great resource to
monitor and maintain your telecom
services. It is our experience that 95%
of all companies we have worked with did
not have this type of list. Not having
this list is like having a dentist
performing open heart surgery.
This document is also a
must for disaster back up and recovery
planning. Again, this is why the FCC
and PUC recommend you have this
information. The Morrison Group’s
proprietary spreadsheet is not displayed
on our web site for obvious reasons.

Identification of
lines and circuits billed in error

In our experience,
physical inventory or demarcation
surveys present one of the largest areas
of cost savings and help identify
erroneous billing, phone lines and
secure reductions in expenses.
Businesses, especially hospitals, are
notorious for ordering new phone lines
and services, but never keep track of
what they are used for or disconnecting
unused phone services. While many
customers are trying to obtain a
half-cent reduction on their cost per
minute, we find 99% of all businesses do
not have a complete physical inventory
list of every voice and data line and
any additional fee’s that may be tacked
on the billing.

“Successful companies outsource non-core
functions to an experienced partner that

Warren Buffet
According to a
recent article in Fortune magazine, "For
many firms the burden of proof has
shifted from "Why outsource?" to "Why
are we trying to do this ourselves?"

The Public Utilities
Commission (PUC) and FCC urges you to
have your phone bills audited every two
years with good reason. Studies show
that phone companies and carriers
inadvertently overcharge 90% of the
time! 90% is a BIG ERROR factor! A
typical audit performed by The Morrison
Group will result in a 15%+ savings!
We have a staff of
auditing tariff specialists who can
assist you in getting whatever credits
or refunds you might be entitled. The
telephone bills for businesses are so
complex and foreign to everyone who
isn't a specialist that most business
people, who thoroughly inspect every
bill, cannot accurately assess what
they're actually paying - and it’s not
your fault!
Our firm specializes in
auditing Commercial businesses,
Government and Non-profit local, long
distance and data invoices. You are
potentially wasting tens of thousands of
dollars in telecom billing errors,
over-provisioned services, missed tax
exemptions, cramming charges, slamming
charges, fraud and abuse. If you have
offices across the United States the
chances are even greater there is some
type of error.
If your company's telecommunications expenses
have not been audited within the last 2
years, you owe it to yourself and your
bottom line to let our team of experts
analyze and audit your bills now --
don't be one of the
9 out of 10 businesses being over-billed. Out
of all businesses audited, up to 80%
resulted in credits or CASH refunds to
the client -- YOU!
If we find no refund,
rebate or credit, you pay us nothing and
you have the benefit of our Tariff
Specialist verifying the accuracy of
your billing. If we successfully obtain
credits or refunds and assist you with
cost saving measures, we receive a
percentage of those savings. Our firm
would like to collect what is rightfully
owed to you. Furthermore,
we only get paid if we
are successful.
We
know the code
S1Q1X, 1FB, 9ZR, PSC,
CHI, FX, RCF, Wirepro
WE KNOW THE CODE!
Do any of the above codes sound
familiar? Do you know what they are?
Very few people do. The codes are
written in USOC (Universal Service Order
Code), creating a computerized report
called a CSR (Customer Service Record),
which in turn, is used by the phone
company computer to create and translate
the customer's monthly bill.
Ironically, the phone company (for their
exclusive use) copyrights this unique
billing language. This language is not
taught in schools, universities or
accounting courses. Accountants,
lawyers, engineers and I.T. people do
not have this complex coded information
-- only the phone company, a few select
professionals and our firm.
If only one item on the
CSR is encoded incorrectly, this will
result in overcharges going back to the
first day of service. One error alone
can cost an average size business
hundreds to thousands of dollars they do
not owe! One of the USOC codes listed
above has an estimated recovery of
$4,000 - $25,000 (the exact amount is
determined by the age and size of the
account).
We will need the
following from you to get started:
-
A listing of all of
the current telephone billing
account numbers, by vendor such as
SBC, Bellsouth, Verizon, etcetera.
-
Top page copies of
all telecom invoices. This includes
local phone company, long distance
phone companies, data provider or
Hi-Cap T-1 billing.
-
Copies of any special
pricing agreements or term
agreements that you may have with
any telecommunications vendor.
-
Any internal company
lists that you may have of the phone
lines that appear at various
locations. This is not mandatory,
but could be helpful if available.
-
A network diagram, if
available.
-
Endorsed and dated
Audit agreement with Letter of
Authority (LOA) copied onto your
business letterhead.
SUCCESS STORIES
A small real estate firm
in Ventura County
Upon review of their
phone bill, we found the local LEC
overcharging for specific services.
This resulted in a rebate of over
$35,000.
A 300 bed hospital
After auditing the CSR,
we found all phone lines had additional
services tacked on to the billing. This
resulted in a savings of over $11,250.00
per month.
A local medical facility
Our audit found
252 unused phone lines resulting in
savings of $72,000.

Who has
the best rates?
Carriers produce thousands of contracts
each year. It is impossible to
determine if you have the best deal
unless you can benchmark your pricing
against firms with similar traffic
patterns and volume. How can you ensure
that your firm has the best plans? Our
Rate & Tariff Optimization team can
help.
As a customer you may only negotiate
your carrier contracts every two or
three years. At The Morrison Group, we
are negotiating contracts daily, across
the board, with different providers and
carriers giving us the inside edge for
the customer. Since all of the
employees of The Morrison Group have
worked many years for specific phone
companies, you could say we’ve
been trained by the enemy. We
understand their thought processes,
giving the advantage back to our
customer, which is you.
